Special Event: Mothering Our Boys

Parenting author and educator, Maggie Dent is known in Australia as the “queen of common sense”, for her capacity to explore parenting through a lens of contemporary research, practical wisdom and a good dose of irreverent humour. For the first time, Maggie is bringing her popular seminar, Mothering Our Boys to Canada.
A mother of four sons herself, Maggie draws on research and personal experience – and over four decades of work as a teacher, counselor and now author and speaker – to help build understanding, empathy and compassion for our boys. In this seminar, Maggie Dent explores the power of mothering our precious boys in a warm, firm, fair and fun way from birth to adulthood.
Quite often mothers of sons are worried about raising their boys in a world where negative images of masculinity are front and centre in our media almost every day. We live in a time where we recognize nothing in gender is fixed, but it remains a fact that the influence of a mother on her son is massive.
Maggie’s presentation will also be incredibly helpful and insightful for dads and father figures to help build a better understanding of the importance of rewarding intimate relationships.
Join us on Monday, September 30 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm here at Church in the Valley.
The cost is $20/person or $30/parenting couple.

Get ready for some family fun! We have a TON of awesome activities for all ages!
Join us every Wednesday from October 9 to November 13 for dinner and a fun night with other families.
Dinner: 6:00 pm
$5/person or $15/family
